Easily backup your data and erase old files

Archeotes is a complex software utility that can be used to create a wide range of backups for your files and folders. It offers some features rarely present in other backup systems and was written to fill these gaps.

It uses a database to insure a quick process and will copy only the needed files. It creates in the destination a copy of your files tree, with the ability to compress or crypt the files you define and to keep old versions of the files you choose.

It can even crypt the filenames. It handles the deletion of files in the source in a smart way : when a file is deleted from the source, it is marked obsolete in the database, but not deleted at once from the destination.

After an interval you define (example : one month) the file in the destination will be deleted. It can keep old versions of your files.
Whats new in version 1.95:

• This Release Candidate revision fixes an incompatibility of revisions 2.0.0.RC.3 or below with high capacity backup disc drive units up to 4 Giga bytes size.
• This revision offers a graphic interface, based on GTK library, for all modules. Thus this graphic interface is now available on both Windows and too Linux platforms with Python software installed.
• The Configurator has been completely redesigned, whith an enhanced graphic interface available, too, on both Windows and Linux platforms allowing user to easily configure his backup.
• The Restore utility has been completely redesigned, whith an enhanced graphic interface available, too, on both Windows and Linux platforms and including a confortable tree representation of the available files for restoration, thus allowing user to easily select what he wants to restore. Encrypted names, if any, are shown in their clear representation in the displayed tree. The Restore utility has been enhanced and corrected since revision RC.1
